Audio Visual Coordinator
The Audio Video Coordinator (AV Coordinator) is an integral member of the Production/Artistic team. He/she is responsible for the creation and implementation of audio and video materials critical to the creation and presentation of Boston Ballet performances. The AV Coordinator works closely with the Stage Management staff to ensure that the company has all the materials needed for rehearsal, & maintains an extensive archive of performance and rehearsal video. Ensures that all audio and video equipment is organized, maintained, and is working properly. The AV Coordinator works as Production Department liaison to the Music Department, ensuring that all audio related needs are in place for main stage performances at the Boston Opera House. The AV Coordinator also works closely with the School and Events Departments as well as provides overall production support for School, Marketing, and Development departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Audio Editing, Duplication, and Recording: Create rehearsal and performance quality recordings. Working with the Stage Management staff, choreographers, and visiting stagers to adjust recordings to meet their needs. As needed, create original recordings. 20% - Video Editing and Duplication: In Conjunction with the Stage Management staff, manages the Company's existing video library. Fulfil requests through Stage Management for video needs in company rehearsals, study needs, and institutional video needs. Ensure the company's compliance with copyright and contractual obligations in the distribution of video. 35% - Special Event Production: Provide ongoing production support to the Company, School, and Events teams, including planning, set up, strike, and operation of production equipment, including audio, lighting, projection equipment as well as dcor and infrastructure set up and removal. 15% - Main Stage Performances: With the Production and Music Departments, ensure that all necessary audio and video equipment to realize the Company's performances at the Boston Opera House is maintained and available for set up onstage. During rehearsal periods for performances, the AV Coordinator directs the Theatre's Sound Technician in the placement, programming, and level setting for all broadcasted audio. Throughout theatre residency, remains on call to the Production and Theatre staff to consult on any audio or video issues. 30% - Other job related assignments as needed.
