AT&T Principal-Technical Architect- Messaging- Alpharetta, GA
Responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology. Designs, develops, documents and analyzes overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software. Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs. Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems. Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems.
Resources will need to have an understanding of several key components of the solutions for the Hosting and Application that will focus on design review and enhancement during the presales cycle prior to contract signing. Special skill and attention to the end to end solution encompassing all components of the solution (networking, load balancers, firewalls, OS, DB, application layers, performance tuning, load testing and overall capacity planning expertise) to ensure that the solution designed is complete and operable at a consistent level. For this role we are looking for expertise with Exchange 2007/2010 application as well as Exchange 2010 architecture and design expertise, experience with Active Directory and Office Communications Server (OCS)/Lync, and Symantec Enterprise Vault. This role will function in key technical thought leadership roles from design through go live. Skills in Coordinating large technical teams, driving problem management activities and high quality troubleshooting are also skills and experience that will be necessary for this role. High skill levels in 4-7 of the solution layers will be necessary for success in this role. This role will drive work across several teams inside AT&T and will be responsible for forward thinking solutions for client issues.

The preferred location for this position is Atlanta, GA. Other locations that will be considered are Alpharetta, GA; Annapolis, MD, Columbus, OH, Saint Louis, MO and Dallas, TX. May consider other qualified applicants in other locations who will remain in those locations.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience: - Experience with Exchange 2007/2010 application .
- Experience in pre-sales and implementation and day 2 support
- Experienced in coordinating large technical teams, driving problem management activities and high quality troubleshooting are necessary for this role.
- High skill levels in 3 -5 of the solution layers will be necessary for success in this role.
- Experience managing projects end to end solutions involving all components, including networking, load balancers, firewalls, OS, DB, application layers, performance tuning, load testing and overall capacity planning expertise
Required Qualifications - - 8-10 years related technical architect experience.
- Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams
- Ability to lead a design activity based on requirements received vs. capabilities available to address the requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience with Exchange 2007/2010 application experience
- Minimum 5 years experience with Exchange 2010 architecture and design
- Minimum 5 years experience with Microsoft OS - Windows 2003/2008
- Minimum 5 years experience with Active Directory
- Minimum 5 years experience with Symantec Enterprise Vault (version 8.0 and above)
- Disaster Recovery expertise for Messaging and Archiving experience
- Microsoft Office Communication Server (OCS) and Lync expertise
- Experience with Infrastructure components such as:
- Firewalls
- Load balancers
- Switches
- Storage
- Direct attached
- SAN based
- VMWare
- Proficient in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP Network Address Management, Performance Management).
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure (including blade center design, data warehouse design, Ebusiness/web hosting design, etc.)
- Proficient in home and premise networking architectures, assessment and modeling.
- Understands Virtualization, Storage and Content Deliver Networks (Cloud, CDM, Grid, SAN).
Desired Qualifications - - AS/BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
- Experience in building multiple versions of large customer facing systems addressing performance and scale.
- Develops technical documentation on applications and systems
