Account Executive, Sales

HIMSS has a fantastic opportunity on our HIMSS Sales Team.  As an Account Executive, Sales, you will generate and achieve revenue objectives for specific products, programs, and services. You will be responsible for promoting and selling HIMSS products and services such as corporate memberships and organizational affiliates, as well as a variety of event and non-event sponsorships.  Following approved sales policies and programs, you will professionally represent HIMSS to potential and current customers. You must maintain an awareness of competitive conditions and report them back to management to respond accordingly.  You will initiate and maintain strong and continuing sales relationships with approved new prospects calling on them in a regular and consistent manner.  You will be responsible for achieving sales and objectives in your assigned area.


 


The successful candidate will:





 



  • Be responsible for achieving revenue goals.

  • Aggressively solicit new customers by telemarketing and formulating follow up plans. 

  • Find and qualify prospects, gather information about prospects, conduct webcasts, present a value proposition, understand company policy and procedures and explanations, and submit price quotes and proposals. Negotiate proposals, and take the order.

  • Work with manager to recommend sales and marketing programs for increasing revenue and profit.

  • Be alert to competitive products and share with management.

  • Prepare sales audits and analyses of present and prospective customers in accordance with company procedures and instructions.

  • Assist in developing sales forecasts, territory potentials, workload analysis, call programs and the annual budget.

  • Maintain up-to-date notes on calls and sales activities in . 

  • Submit any reports regarding the operation of assigned area.

  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions and tradeshows, as directed.

  • Actively read health trade journals to keep up on the activities of the market and to learn more about healthcare IT. Understand the process or art of selling.

  • Develop accurate knowledge of the buying and selling methodologies and practices of accounts in order to tailor individual sales approaches for each account.


 


The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:






  • Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience. 

  • A minimum of three (3) years of successful sales experience. 

  • Ability to work independently to achieve specific goals. 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. 

  • Knowledge of the Healthcare IT industry. 

  • Skilled in using current office technology and sales tracking systems. 

  • Good oral & written communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret results. 

  • Goal oriented, and driven to succeed.

  • Must be able to travel.
