Our client is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business located in Alexandria, VA. They provide high level network operation, security, and other IT services using experienced staff with extensive knowledge to accomplish its goal of excellent service.
They are looking for aSenior Consultant (.NET Developer) inthe DC Metro Area.
We are actively seeking a Senior Consultant with a passion for .NET application development. The successful candidate will work with our customers to empower organizations to innovate and gain competitive advantage through leveraging the .NET development platform framework. We have been successful at demonstrating the superiority of .NET over JAVA and need skilled developers capable of furthering our growth in this space.
DUTIES:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency with or quickly learn advanced .NET architecture, design, coding, and debugging. This candidate’s ability to impact system architectures, investigate system-wide technical problems, and develop new features is critical to the role. Additionally, the role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to develop a solution by mapping a customer’s business problems to an end-to-end technology solution. Each consulting engagement is customized to serve the client’s unique needs. The role requires a technically strong Senior Consultant who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both Application Development and Business Development.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Strong testing background including functional, regression and load testing.
• Prepare test plans
• Write test cases
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and compare against development
• Understanding of application development processes
• Knowledge of Agile development processes would be helpful
• Ability to diagnose problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong understanding and experience with the .NET 3.5 and 4.0 framework.
• Strong experience with the C# programming language and object-oriented programming.
• Visual Basic.NET or other .NET programming languages and WCF is helpful.
• Strong understanding and experience with ASP.NET.
• Strong understanding and experience with MOSS 2007 is desired.
• Strong understanding of TFS 2010.
• Writing Test Cases, Preparing Test Plans, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, Load Testing .
• Experience developing database applications using SQL Server.
• Experience with AGILE development processes specifically SCRUM is helpful.
• Broad understanding and experience with Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft technologies.
• Experience developing Microsoft Office based solution is helpfuls.
• Experience developing database applications using SQL Server. Experience with Oracle or DB2 is helpful.
• Experience developing interoperable solutions with Unix/Linux and/or Java using web services, COM/Java interop technologies, and/or TCP/IP sockets is desirable.
• Advanced debugging skills; ability to debug system-wide technical problems in unfamiliar areas.
• Ability to diagnose and correct performance problems.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to engage in executive and senior-level technology discussions.
• Strong understanding of Team Foundation Server or other source control mechanisms.
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Experience with requirements management tools (Doors, etc. – TFS)
• Experience with test management tools (HP Quality Center, etc. – Again TFS just started supporting)
• Experience creating and tracking defects in issue tracking tools like TFS, StarTeam, FogBugz, etc.
• Experience producing a requirements traceability matrix for testing.
• Experience testing web applications
• Experience testing web
• Experience using SQL to set up test data and to validate that application is producing correct data.
• Experience with automated test tools (WinRunner, LoadRunner,Quicktest Pro, etc.)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Have at least 5-7 years experience with Microsoft platform products including the Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 Operating System.
• Experience with the evaluation, design, and upgrading of several technologies used to create, manage, update, monitor, and report on Windows desktop configurations.
• Must have significant work experience involving technical consulting, systems development, and systems deployment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science; or equivalent work experience.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
