Summary: The Commodity Manager will act as the primary contact for negotiation and supplier management with the supply base, driving the strategic sourcing decisions on a global basis. The Commodity Manager will lead and support the development, implementation and management of global strategies to provide Facebook''s Supply Chain Organization with optimal pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance, as well as supply assurance. Working closely with the Engineering Team, the Commodity Manager will communicate and implement strategies, contracts and pricing with an overall focus on maintaining long term supplier relationships and managing total costs of ownership to a minimum. This position reports to the Manager of Supply Chain and is based in our Menlo Park office. Required Skills: Develop and execute commodity strategies for server components.; Address all areas of commodity management including commodity business plans, global market and pricing analysis and procurement support.; Be the liaison between Supply Chain Organization and Hardware Engineering for supplier and component selection.; Implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management metrics, and supply base optimization.; Conduct high level negotiations and comprehensive agreements with supplier executives.; Develop global commodity strategies with defined plans for cost savings, risk assessment and mitigation, and service level agreements.; Provide rigorous analysis of spend data and market trends and dynamics to prioritize and launch sourcing initiatives.; Achieve best-in-class sourcing practices through commodity benchmarking.; Generate formal Requests for Proposals and scorecards, conduct Quarterly Business Reviews, manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).; Continually identify and implement new opportunities for Cost Savings and Cost Avoidance.; Experience: BA/BS or equivalent in technical or business related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience; At least 7 years of Commodity Management or Supply Chain Management experience Willing to travel and work with Asia (evening work).; Prior leadership or management experience preferred; Strong knowledge of materials, purchasing, Lean manufacturing and supply chain processes.; Must be analytical and results focused.; Knowledge with mechanical, PCBA, semiconductors or power supplies preferred.; Industry: Internet
